Helping others breathe easier is the ultimate mission of our Respiratory Care Services Department. Our team of skilled Respiratory Care Practitioners provides respiratory therapy services for both Mission Hospital and CHOC Children’s at Mission Hospital. This includes acute and general therapeutic procedures as well as pulmonary function and neurology diagnostics testing. We offer compassionate respiratory care to the full spectrum of patient populations, including neonatal/infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric. As part of our commitment to the communities we serve, we also support community asthma outreach and pulmonary rehabilitation programs.
The Blood Gas Laboratory supports our respiratory care at three distinct sites, each located strategically to maximize utilization. The lab is accredited by the College of American Pathologists. In addition, our Pulmonary Function Laboratory and Neurology Testing Area are both located in the main department area.
